What are the factors that affect the quality of extruded tungsten carbide rod?
Dec 18, 2017

Compounding is a complicated process of improving the fluidity of the powder and of completing the dispersion in which the forming agent must be completely and uniformly coated with the powder and mixed into a powdery material with good rheological properties.

Incomplete kneading, kneading time, temperature, methods and other improper control is an important reason for bad shape carbide rod. Only the powder with the best rheology can be obtained through the mixing process, so that it is possible to shape a green body without cracks and a smooth surface. Mixing can easily lead to an increase in oxygen content. The mixing temperature and the mixing time must be selected reasonably to reduce the increase of oxygen content, thereby controlling the decarburization of subsequent processes. Refine the best quality carbide rod.
